Siddique - Success Story

Siddique started his film career as the assistant director of Fazil in the year1983. While in his career as an Assistant Director, he made a story for the Malayalam movie "Naadodikkaattu", which was a mega hit.

At the same time he wrote a story along with the dialogue and screen play for another Malayalam movie, on the life after death in a humorous way. The movie was "Pappan Priyappetta Pappan"

Siddique's career as a cinie Director, along with his colleague Lal happened in 1989. In this association, he wrote the story, dialogue and screenplay. The movie "Ramji Rao Speaking" was a superhit with many new faces as artists, director and writer himself. The movie ran for 200 days.

Siddique DirectorBalakrishnan (Sai Kumar) is an unemployed youth who needs to pay back his late father's debt to Hamsakoya. He loses his job opportunity and the same was grabbed away by Rani, who too had her own financial problems. She is also trying to make both ends meet. Gopalakrishnan (Mukesh) is also an unemployed youth trying to make his old mother (Sukumari) proud of him by saying that he has a good job in Calcutta. They both reside in the house of Mannar Mathai (Innocent Vincent), a drama artist and owner of a drama troop who unable to start a career in theatre due to financial issues. As the three of them try to forget their problems, a bandit named Ramji Rao mistakingly calls the wrong number claiming that he has kidnapped the daughter of Uramees Thampaan. Seeing an opportunity to make money, the three of them come up with their own plans to arrest the bandit and get the cash.

The same movie was later remade in Hindi as "Hera Pheri" in 2000.

SiddiqueThe next venture by Siddique was "In Harihar Nagar". This was also a mega hit, during 1990 and the movie ran for 100 days without any artists of super star value. The movie was remade twice in Hindi; "Parda Hai Parda" in 1991 and "Dhol" in 2007.

Mahadevan (Mukesh (actor)), Govindan Kutty (Siddique), Appukuttan (Jagadish) and Thomas Kutty (Asokan) are four young men enamored by lovely Maya (Geetha Vijayan), who is the next door neighbor of Mahadevan. Maya is in town to know facts about the mysteries surrounding the death of her only brother. The film revolves around the antics of these four to win Maya's heart. It also explores the past of the central characters. Towards the end, John Honai (Riza Bava) a man with some dark secrets, appears.

The famous line "Thomassukutty Vitto Daa" comes from this movie. This is among the most liked movies in Indian Cinema. Siddique broke all the prevailing records of the industry, striking with a mega hit "Godfather" which ran continuously for 405 days in Trivandrum, the same also was without a super star. The movie was made in 1991. Later this movie was remade to Hindi as "Hul Chul" in 2004.

The next venture by Siddique was "Vietnam Colony", stared by Mohan lal and Kanaka. This was a family entertainer and was indeed a super hit. The 5th venture by Siddique was once again without any super stars, "Kabooliwalah" which came out in 1994 proved to be a super hit and the movie ran for 100 days.

The 6th venture was without Mr.Lal. The movie "Hitler", released in 1996, stared by Mammootty and Shobhana, was truly a family entertainer. The movie was the mega hit of 1996, and it ran for 150 days.

His 7th movie "Friends", again without a super star was a mega hit and it ran for 150 days. The 8th one, the remake of "Friends" to SiddiqueTamil, by Siddique himself, stared by Vijay, Surya, Devayani, was also a mega hit and the movie ran for 175 days. The 8th movie by Siddique was in Malayalam. The movie, "Chronic Bachelor" stared by Mammootty, Rambha was one among the biggest hits in the year 2003. The movie made theatres live for 150 days.

His 9th venture was in Tamil and the movie was stared by Vijayakanth, Prabhu Deva and Vadivel. The movie "Engal Anna", was also a super hit, and the movie ran for more than 100 days. The 10th venture was again in Tamil and the movie, "Sadhu Miranda" was a great hit. The movie released in 2007 was stared by Prasanna and Kavya. Siddique stepped into the Telugu film industry with his 11th project, with the movie "Sathyam Sivam Sundaram" in the year 2007.

Siddique was the key person who wrote the dialogue, story, screenplay, and supervised the Direction of the movie "Mannar Mathayi Speaking". This was a mega hit and that movie ran for 150 days. Later this movie was remade to Hindi with the name "Bhagam Bhag" in 2006.

Presently, he is busy with his latest Malayalam movie - "Bodyguard". The Tamil version of this movie is expected to reach theatre by July 2009.
